Mr Jess reports a big Mac mess

Former workmate at CG, Mr Jess Unwin, has reported that my allegedly expertly crafted site here is a bit of a let down when viewed on a Mac.

So much for standards compliance and the greater good… you know, all that web evangelist bullshit!

I have sent a mercy e-mail to Jeremy in the hope that he, as a mac designer/developer (and all round good web egg(tm)) will be able to point me in the right direction. Sincere apologies to all Mac users affected until I get this sorted.

Safe as houses

Tonight our new land lord paid us a visit and gave us some good and bad news. The good news is that the house is ours – they’ve taken it off the market, so to speak, and they’re not intending to let it to anyone but us. This is very cool.

The bad news is that it’s still a week and a half away from the renovation being completed. Which means our plans to move in this week are completely dashed. This, as well as being inconvenient, is very bad timing into the bargain. It means we’ll be moving stuff on the eve of my forthcoming birthday celebrations, and in the first week for ages when Fliss is working full time.

It would be pretty horrible if these two events clashed. As I’ve discovered in the last couple of years, house moves come fairly frequently. 30th birthdays do not. While I’m not exactly relishing the thought of leaving my 20’s behind, I am wanting to do it with a big enough bang that it’s memorable.

Schmokin’!

Kieran’s & Ellie’s barbecue on Saturday just passed was a fun day for all. Although I shouldn’t be surprized with the company we were keeping (Rich, Colin, Rob D) a 24 pack of Fosters, amongst other beer and beverages, should last a damn sight longer than 8 hours!

Since this is only July (although with the weather here in Liverpool it might as well be February), hopefully there’ll be the chance of another of these seminal events before the summer is out? ;o)
