A perfect weekend

With the weather and the mood coming together at just the right time, the weekend was a complete success and one of the best I’ve had in a long while.

Friday saw the arrival of Sue, Anne, Hazel and Ian, and a trip to the local for a good meal and plenty of drinks followed. Probably not the best of ideas, since we all had to repeat the process on Saturday, but it was top fun all the same.

Saturday Ian and I caught a fairly dull Scottish Cup Final, but at least Rangers clinched the treble with a goal from Ammo in what will probably be his farewell match.

Racing back along to the house after the match, I had time to hack the life out of a pair of jeans for that 80’s ripped look, grab a shower and don my costume before Kieran and Elle arrived in school uniform! Good effort for that – only Bunny in drag robbed you of the coveted Rubik‘s Cube for the best outfit.

Soon to be married David and Sarah took the Rubik‘s Cube for the most points in the 80’s music quiz. Not sure if that’s something to be proud of or not!?

The whole evening/night went very well – I think everybody had a great time and Fliss was really happy to celebrate her 21st with such a great crowd. Watching the video footage from Fliss‘ new camcorder the next day, it seems that everyone was in high spirits – thanks to everyone who came for making it such a good night.

As the party wound down, a text message from sister Hazel told me that the Claymore’s had thrashed the Dragons 45-7 to set up a grandstand finish to the NFL Europe season. We’ll be at Hampden next Sunday to cheer on the Claymore’s – hopefully a win will see them into the World Bowl the following Saturday. We have tickets for that too!

As if that wasn’t enough, a Sunday afternoon spent feeling exceptionally rough was capped with Montoya winning quite an exciting Monaco GP.

Couldn’t have scripted the whole weekend better myself :o)
